In 2024, I was contacted by the Physics of Life (PoL) research organization, located in Dresden, Germany to make comics based on the research that the many scientists are conducting there. According to their website, the PoL's mission is to, "...aim to elucidate the laws of physics that underlie the dynamic spatiotemporal organization of life into molecules, cells and tissues. Our focus is to bring fundamental physics to biology for the purpose of understanding and solving biological questions."  The research that the scientists at PoL are doing is very exciting, and, at times, very complicated.  Relaying that research in a way that a young reader can understand and connect to was a wonderful challenge.  PoL was very generous with their time, and the level of access they gave me to their scientists.
